SoftPOS on Touch

SoftPOS methods let cashiers take card / wallet tap-to-pay on the same Android device. Admins configure plugins under organization payment methods, then enable them on the event and station.

Supported SoftPOS / related plugins include NearPay, Stripe, Touch2Pay, Viva (Wallet / ISV / tokenized), Zettle, Altice Pay, Famoco Pay, and Mobile money — each with its own minimum Touch version and credential fields.

Take a SoftPOS payment

  1. On sale, top-up, or box office pay, choose the SoftPOS tender (name as configured for the event).
  2. Follow the on-device prompt (for example Tap to Pay).
  3. Ask the customer to tap their card or phone.
  4. Wait for success, or cancel and retry if the tap fails.

NearPay specifics

NearPay requires Touch 10.5.0+ and organization fields such as jwtPrivateKey, terminalId, environment, and country. See the NearPay field table.

If payment fails

  • Retry or ask for another card.
  • Confirm the device is online and the station has the method enabled (or inherits the event).
  • Ask an admin to verify sandbox vs production credentials, terminal / location IDs, and that Touch meets the plugin minimum version.
  • Sync the device after payment-method changes.
