Installing the APK

Note

Some versions of Android may prevent the installation of 3rd party APKs.

This guide covers general steps to allow the installation of APKs outside common app stores.

Common Android 8+ devices

1. Go to Settings.

2. Go to Security & Privacy > More Settings.

3. Select on Install apps from external sources.

4. Select the app you want to download the APK files from.

5. Turn on Allow App Installs.

If you have transferred the APK to your Android from your computer, select your file manager.

If you have received a link to download the app, select your browser.

If you have received an email attachment, select you mail application.

Samsung devices

1. Go to Settings

2. Go to Biometrics and Security > Install unknown apps.

3. Select the app you want to download the APK files from.

4. Turn on Allow App Installs.

MDM Distribution

If you are using an MDM (Mobile Device Management platform), it is highly recommended distributing the APK with it.

Refer to your MDM documentation to learn how to upload the APK and distribute it across devices.
